Angry? Sad ? Tired ? Sleeping? .. Create this personalized Mood Dial and use it as a door sign to show people your mood, state of mind , and your emotions! It shows visitors if they're welcome in or not .

                                 Materials

• FOR DIAL:
• Plate or bowl
• Pencil
• Foam core or cardboard
• Scissors
• Card stock
• Marker
• Glue stick or double-sided tape            

• Paper fastener — or create your own pointer (instructions below)
• Foam mounting tape or poster tack
• FOR FANCY POINTER:
• Button
• Bead
• Pipe cleaner
• Glue and tape

                                 Instructions

1. Use a plate or bowl to trace a large half-circle onto a sturdy piece of backing material, such as foam core or cardboard, then cut it out.
2. Cut pie-piece-shaped sections out of card stock — as many as your child wants to convey her changing moods. Write messages on the sections (ours are on colorful card stock circles) with marker, then attach the sections to the base with a glue stick or double-sided tape.
3. Cut a pointer shape out of card stock and attach it to the base with a paper fastener — or create a pointer following the instructions in Step 4. Hang the dial with foam mounting tape or poster tack.
4. To make our fancy pointer, string a button and a bead on a folded pipe cleaner, as shown. Make a hole in the pointer and in the center of the dial's base. Add glue around the hole in the pointer, then feed the folded pipe cleaner through both holes. Fold over the ends and tape them to the back of the base.
