Birthday Crown:
Materials
- Iron
- Iron-on adhesive, cut to 4 by 21 inches (we used Therm O Web No-Sew Heat and Bond UltraHold)
- 1/8-yard cotton fabric, cut to 4 by 21 inches
- 1/4-yard felt, cut to 4 by 21 inches (use the extra felt for the decorations)
- Paper clips
- Crown template
- Fabric-covered ponytail holder
- Needle and thread
- Scissors
- Tacky Glue (optional )
- 1 package self-adhesive Velcro dots
- Freezer paper (optional)
- Glue stick (optional)
- Iron the adhesive to the back of the fabric according to the package directions. Let the fabric cool, then peel off the backing. Lay the fabric adhesive side down on the felt, then iron the two pieces together.
- Paper-clip the template to the fabric, then cut out the shape. Sew the ponytail holder in place as shown.
- With scissors or pinking shears, cut out numbers and shapes from the leftover felt, gluing them together as needed. (Our crown template includes decorations.) Use Velcro dots to adhere the decorations to the front of the crown.
Crafter's tip: For easier cutting and super-straight edges, first iron freezer paper (shiny side down) to the felt. You can use a glue stick to adhere templates to the freezer paper, then cut out the shapes and peel off the paper.ENJOY!Reference :Disney Family Fun (2012).
